Antoine Comeau Joins Turn 3 Motorsport for 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship

Chicago, Ill. (March 4, 2020) – Canadian driver Antoine Comeau will once again join Turn 3 Motorsport for the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship presented by Cooper Tires. Comeau, a full time partner at an options trading firm, had a knockout racing season last year where he was crowned the Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup North America champion as well as the winner of the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance race alongside his T3M teammates.

The sportscar champion got his feet wet in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship last year, joining the series for the second half of the season and getting acclimated to open wheel racing in preparation for a full season in 2020. Comeau’s achievements in his rookie year included a highest finish of ninth in two races and completing every race he entered, setting up a good foundation for his 2020 campaign.

“I am very excited to join Turn 3 Motorsport again for a full season of Indy Pro 2000,” said Comeau. “We had a very successful season together last year winning the Radical Cup North America Championship and the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, so I’m ready to take on the next challenge of the Indy Pro 2000 series. We did a few races with the series last year and had some good results, so I’m looking forward to what we can do in 2020.”

“It’s great to have Antoine back with us for 2020,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. "We are aiming to build on what we learned last season and push to be as close to the front as possible. Antoine works very hard and is very committed to his racing, so having someone like this in the team makes us all push ourselves to be the best we can. I’m looking forward to seeing him develop more in 2020.”

Spring training for the Road to Indy series kicks off this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway with Comeau piloting the #3 ACR/Eastern/Turn 3 Motorsport car.

Also joining Comeau and T3M for the test is Indy Lights driver Toby Sowery piloting the #30 ACR/Eastern/Turn 3 Motorsport car. The 23-year-old Englishman finished third in his rookie season of the 2019 Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires championship, a notable achievement that will bring another level of experience to the team.

“Our goal as a team is to have a teammate alongside Antoine during the season so that we can progress quicker during the race weekends,” continued Dempsey. “We are happy to have Toby Sowery join our team for the Homestead test. This will be a big help to Antoine as we want to keep building on the progress we have made during our winter tests. We are looking forward to getting the season started.”

The 2020 Road to Indy and NTT IndyCar Series season begins March 12-15 at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg season opener.
